Let me sum it up for you in four words: Melanie Fleet is fantastic!

I’m a busy graduate student at Tufts and my boyfriend lives in NYC, so when we decided to try to find an apartment in Allston/Brookline life got complicated. I could barely find the time to squeeze in the hour-long T commute from Tufts and my boyfriend could only visit on weekends. Let’s just say Melanie saved us!

She was very attuned with what we wanted. She even had a long conversation with us prior to our first meeting to ensure she showed us the right types of places, and she was spot on. After our first meeting, we communicated mostly by phone and email – Melanie was ALWAYS quick to reply.

We eventually found a place we liked (at least through the pictures we saw), but of course it was midweek and neither of us could make it out to see the apartment. Melanie went out and took a video of the apartment, so we could see it for ourselves. Pretty awesome, right?! Melanie knew we would love the place and we did! We just signed a lease and are all set.

I get stressed out about this kind of stuff and it was great to have someone who was nice, professional and willing to do whatever we needed to find a place that worked for us. Having lived in Philadelphia for 6 years, I had never had to use an agent to lease an apartment before deciding to move to the Boston area.  Between my parents, who generously donated time to do some apartment hunting for us, and our many appointments, I experienced several agents in the Brookline area. Melanie was, by far, the best.  She understood our needs, was informed and able to answer our questions, not too pushy at all, and generally a fun person to be around.

I am from Pennsylvania and will be moving to Boston for grad school in the fall.  I was extremely stressed about finding an apartment not only because I don’t know the city that well, but also making a trip there to see places is very difficult.  The first company I worked with found me a place, but it was rented the same day by someone else and I lost it.  As a result I had to plan a last minute trip to Boston to try and get a lease signed ASAP.  I worked with Thiago and he was incredibly friendly and helpful.  I hadn’t even been able to give him 24 hours notice before we would be meeting to see apartments, and yet he still managed to come up with 4 great properties to show me.  All of the places were exactly what I had been looking for and I signed a lease for a great studio right next to the T in Allston.  Thiago was very professional, walked me through all the paperwork, and made sure everything was completed so I wouldn’t have to run up to Boston just to sign something.  I would definitely recommend First Choice Realty.

Alison Shanley

Alison Shanley was a great help to me and my roomates finding an apartment. She narrowed down our search in the area we wanted very quickly and got us into the apartments. She was quick to show us pictures on e-mail and promptly responded to all of our questions. She even helped us avoid the upfront fee.

I would recommend using her and First Choice. I will be headed back for our next move.

Wendy is the tops! She got me into my really sweet apartment in coolidge corner at such a great price. She knew the kind of apartment to show me without me even articulating it.
I recommend her to all of my friends and will continue to.
Quick little story – she helped a friend of mine find a place and the landlord/mgmt company was being so difficult and Wendy dealt with it like a pro and got the place all fixed up (I’m talking bathroom & kitchen gutted/floors redone fixed up) and everything squared away.
She’s the best! Oh and she is the nicest gal you will ever meet!!!
